Privacy policy

Last updated October 21, 2026.

Truespeak Studio and this site, truespeak.gg, are made by Evgeny Maksakov, a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada. “I” and “me” below mean Evgeny Maksakov.

In short

  • The site itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising.
  • If you join the waitlist, your email address is used for one thing: telling you when Truespeak Studio is released.
  • I don’t sell or rent personal information, or give it to anyone for their own marketing.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete what I hold about you at any time.

Who is responsible

I’m responsible for the personal information collected through this site, under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act, and I’m the person to contact about it:

What the site collects, and why

When you visit

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver each page and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare’s servers process technical details of every request, such as your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for. If Cloudflare has to check that a visitor isn’t a bot, it may set a short-lived security cookie. I don’t use any of these details to identify you or to build a profile of you.

When you join the waitlist

You give your email address and tick a box to agree to one email: the news that Truespeak Studio is released. You may also get one email asking you to confirm your address. Along with your address, a record is kept of when you agreed and the wording you agreed to, because under Canada’s anti-spam law it’s up to the sender to prove you agreed. The email service also records the IP address the form was sent from. The release email has no open or click tracking.

When you write to me

If you email me, I use your address and your message to answer you, and keep our emails only as long as they’re useful for that.

On your own device

The site remembers three settings on your device: whether you picked its light or dark look, whether you paused the background fire, and that you’ve already seen the opening animation in this visit. They stay there, are never sent to me, and you can clear them at any time with your browser’s settings for site data. They aren’t cookies.

Who else handles it

Three services handle personal information on my behalf, each under its own privacy and security terms: Cloudflare, which hosts the site; the email service that keeps the waitlist, [Placeholder] its name; and the service that hosts my email, [Placeholder] its name. They may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local laws and may be accessed by the authorities there. Apart from these services, I disclose personal information only when the law requires it.

If Truespeak Studio itself changes hands, for example to a company I set up to run it, the personal information it holds goes with the business. The new owner may use it only for the purposes on this page, and you’ll be told that the transfer has happened.

The site links to other sites, such as Patreon and X. They have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.

How long it’s kept

Your email address stays on the waitlist until I’ve sent the release email or you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. After that, it is kept only in the record of your consent or of your unsubscribing, for as long as I may need to show that I emailed you with your agreement.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Unsubscribe at any time, with the link in any email from me or by writing to me. Your request takes effect within 10 business days at the latest.
  • Ask what personal information I hold about you, how it has been used and who it has been shared with.
  • Ask me to correct it or delete it.

I’ll answer within 30 days, at no charge. If you aren’t satisfied with my answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the waitlist relies on your consent, and the hosting on my legitimate interest in running the site safely. You can also ask me to restrict or stop using your information, or for a copy of it, and I’ll answer within a month. You can complain to your local data protection authority as well.

Keeping it safe

Personal information is held only by me and the services above, and the site and the waitlist form use encrypted connections. I protect it with reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts your information at real risk of significant harm, I’ll tell you as soon as I can.

Children

The site isn’t aimed at children, and the waitlist isn’t meant for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has joined it, write to me and I’ll delete the address.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date. I won’t use your email address for anything new without asking you first.
